Happy Thanksgiving!

I've been MIA for a while - my network card died and I was unable to get online :(.. but it's fixed and now I can catch up on blog stuff and work!

It's Thanksgiving weekend here in Canada and we couldn't be having better weather for it! We've spent some time with family and went for a great little hike yesterday and tonight I will cook us a big supper!  Here's a few pics of our weekend :)

Shop Update!

I have finally gotten these cute little pincushions done and into the shop! They come in nine different colours at the moment, but they can be made in any colour combination and would make great little stocking stuffers! :)

I am also super excited to introduce a Vintage Home section to our shop! For now it only has a few items, but I think they are really cute things and we hope to add more goodies soon. We will also be adding vintage jewelry and accessories in the near future, which makes me even more thrilled so check back for that soon!

Today is also the last day of our giveaway, so make sure you leave us a comment there, our winner will be announced tomorrow morning...hope you are
all having an awesome weekend and a Happy Thanksgiving!

Friday Favourites

I'm currently reading "The Parasol Protectorate" Series by Gail Carriger.  It combines the supernatural with victorian era sensibilities and dirigibles. I think I love steampunk! So heres some neato steampunk crafts from around the web.

Ohhhh how I missed you!

It has been quite a while since I have sewn a piece of clothing for myself, this was the last thing that I have done and that was in in July, so yes it has been way too long!  I was having the urge to whip up something easy and fallish and I have a little blue obsession happening right now...so this is what I came up with!

It is loosely based on this burda 7428 pattern, but I had McCalls M5769 already at home which is actually sleepwear and I used the bath robe pattern!  I just made the sleeves shorter and added the cuff and pockets.

It has kind of a kimono feeling and looks cuter belted, but I am mostly loving the pockets!  I am definitely into pockets but am usually too excited to wear something and don't bother with them unless I have too, but now I am going to take the time and put them in everything!

The cowl is also made by me and is really soft gray stripes.  I still haven't decided if I am going to gift it, sell it at our Christmas craft show or keep it...I think probably keep on this one :)
