Monster Stuffie

I picked up this little guy recently at an adorable handmade shop in Napanee called Frayed Around the Edges! His name is Sherman and his tag says he is a "Card carrying Member of the Broken-Hearted Club". I think he is super cute and he is sooo soft and the perfect size for my youngest son, Caden.

I am so happy when I find local shops that carry handmade! Where do you like to shop in your area?

Pay it forward fun!

I am taking part in a fun little pay it forward activity from plus three crochet (love this blog for pretty crocheted things!) and now I am going to pass the love on to you! Here is how it works:

* The first three people who comment on this post will receive a handmade gift from me!
* I will have 365 days to get your gift to you.
* The three people taking part will also host a PIF, so you will need to have a blog to join in.

I love getting things in the mail and you probably do to so leave a comment here if you want some goodies in the mail from me!

Monorgramed Christmas Ornaments

I had some clear ornaments hanging around in my craft box so I decided to try and replicate these monogrammed ornaments from Pottery Barn. My camera didn't want to focus on the glass - so here's kinda what they look like!

The Fun of Photographing Kids!

I waited too long to get the girls pictures done this year and all the local photographers were booked. I had to remind myself of my stress-free Christmas plan and just laugh at how my little models posed! Here are some out takes of our "shoot". The finished ones are off getting printed, and next year I'll try and remember to book at the end of October.

Kaitlyn is missing from the out takes - because as a 10 year old she can follow direction - and would probably be horrified if I posted embarrassing pictures!

Lucky me!

A little while ago I won a giveaway from the rik rak studio for two custom stockings and I chose these! They are really pretty and simple and I completely love them. Here is how I am displaying them right now!

Thank you rik rak!

Do you like to enter giveaways? What do you think are the best kinds to enter?

Christmas Projects Finished!

Today I finished all my Christmas sewing - I made all the kidlets stuffed Totoros, made some Princess dresses for Maya (out of the shiniest, most awful fabric - but she'll love it!) and some note books made to look like Hogwarts Textbooks. How are you Christmas project coming?

This one has pink ribbon that you can't really see in the picture, and then I made a Snow White one, but the picture came out blurry and I had already wrapped it!

Friday Favourites!

I have really been adoring all of this delicate jewelry lately! I may just have to make an Etsy order this afternoon...which one is your favourite?

Christmas Card Display

Christmas is the best time of year for mail - it's the only time we have more cards than bills in the mail box! Here's what I rigged up to display them this year!

(side note - can you believe Chritmas is in 8 days!!! )

Nice Surprise!

Today I got home from work to find *yeah!* a little package for me in the mail. It was a gift from Michelle at Marsupial Menagerie -along with a sweet hand written thank you card for featuring her in a post :). It made my day! and the timing was perfect since we finally got to go see the Deathly Hallows pt 1 last night! (and it was amazing!! Thanks Cassie for babysitting!)

So if your as big a Harry Potter fan as our household is - or if you know someone who is be sure to check out her adorable and unique cards!

look how great they fit into Kaitlyn's Harry Potter Collection!

Stress Free Christmas?!

source

Last Christmas I over extended myself and found myself (as usual) up late finishing presents on Christmas eve. This year I really made a point to try and do less so I can enjoy the season more. So far I am sticking to my plan - and it's working! I am excited for Christmas and able to spend evenings with my family without worrying about deadlines.

Part of our yearly tradition is to watch all of Lord of the Rings. We are half way through the Two Towers right now. What are some of your family's traditions??

Happy 1st Birthday!

My little boy Caden turned one last weekend and I am just getting around to posting the few photos that I managed to get now! We didn't do anything to over-the-top, we actually ended up opening presents in our pj's after Jason got home from work but here are a few pics of the day!
