We moved into this house of ours last summer after realising we needed more space for baby #2, such as a basement and another bedroom! It is a bigger house in a nicer neighbourhood but definitely has some very "dated" elements, like the bathroom tiling (brown and white checkerboard. ick!) and the paint choices. I have mentioned them here before...
So we finally got around to painting and I love the new green! These are a few in-progress pictures, it is all finished now and the colour was a bit of a debate but I am so happy we decided to go this dark!
We went with more of a neutral in the kitchen, painted out the wood on the cupboards and a few other little touches including this plate wall that I adore and can't stop looking at right now!
I saw the inspiration for this here and had to do it! Mine isn't quite as coulourful but the plates are all thrifted and it was pretty simple to do. The plate hooks were a bit of a pain because they couldn't fit the smaller saucers so Jason had to handle that area, but the hanging and positioning of them was a lot of fun! I love too that I can change the plates out and add new special ones when I come across them which means more items to be on the look out for while thrifting!

Oooo... I love the plate idea! And the green is a fabulous color. You must be so pleased now that it is done and done.
