Blythe

Ever since I saw this article in the now defunct Craft Magazine (online only now), I've wanted a Blythe.  Jessi thinks they're creepy (but is still encouraging me in this silly purchase) I have googled and googled and I've gotton smitten with the idea of customizing Blythe Dolls.

Sad thing is, with little baby on the way, I just can't justify dropping $100 plus on a doll that I want to pull apart, sand down, carve up and completely make-over.  So I picked up a clone off of ebay.  I figured if I was going to learn to customize , it'd probably be best not to start on the real thing.

I picked this doll up for $17 plus shipping from ebay seller kisnok8 and she should be here in 7-20 days (overseas shipping..sheesh)  I'm excited!!  Can't wait to pull her all apart and put her back together. Also I want to make clothes for her, this knitting pattern from Puchi Collective is pretty neat. Then maybe I'll start to design my own? I never did grow up :)

  3. Your clone is kinda cute! OK, but those Blythe dolls are just a tad creepy...it's the eyes. Yikes. Artsy, original, and could maybe be cutesy if they wore polka dots...hmm...maybe not even then. I'm probably too used to American Girls from my daughter :) Can't wait to see your customized version.

  5. They start at $100....the original ones from the 70's are thousands! And the rarer newish ones are $300....so cannot justify spending that on a doll. I think I kinda like creepy though lol
