I've been getting ready for birthfest by making as many amigurumi animals as possible. I thought for this friday favourites I'd share some pretty cool free patterns (knit and crocheted) from the interweb :)

Hope you're feeling as inspired as I am!!!

Tagging Game: Number 8

We were tagged by Natty Jane from All dressed up and nowhere to go in a fun photo game!

Here is how it goes:
Go to the 8th folder in which you store your photos. Select the 8th photo.
Post it to your blog and tell the story behind it.
After following the above instructions, you are ‘supposed’ to tag 8 other bloggers.

Mandi
My photo is of our dog Zoey. I have tons of folders of pictures on my computer but in the 8th folder there were only three photos, so this was one of them. She looks pretty cute in this picture, she normally is a lot scruffier!

Cassie
Aw! This is Obi dressed as a punk in a homemade jean jacket and ....Duff Man at one of Jessi's many awesome costume parties!!! Jessi's Birthday and Halloween are always so much fun! We try to make our own costumes as much as possible. I think that when this picture was taken Scooter was dressed as Willie Nelson and I was dressed as the Baroness from GI Joe. Obi's Jacket was made when we cut the sleeves off of the thrifted jacket we turned into a vest for Scooter's costume.

Jessi
I wish I knew what was happening in this pic - Maya went through a phase of dressing up Lily all the time - I am not sure what a dish cloth on the head was supposed to be! Now Lily is big enough to fight her off when she comes near her with "costumes"!

We have tagged these bloggers!

Simple Summer Skirt

I whipped up this little skirt the other night from a set of thrifted curtains. I really liked the pattern when I saw it and the price was right at just a few dollars. I don't really know what the pattern would be called, tribal maybe? It was pretty simple to make, just three panels, a waistband and zipper in the back. It is really comfy although it could use some interfacing in the waistband but I didn't have any on hand. oh wellll :) It just makes me so happy for more summer sewing to come!

Once someone tells me they have an idea or theme in mind for their order, my brain just goes crazy with ideas on how to make it look outstanding and out of this world. I don't like making plain ordinary cakes, so I try to ask the customer if I can step out of the box and be creative!

David Suzuki & A Robot

I'm now referring to this guy as David Suzuki. Can't help it! He's just adorable!

Now in the process of trying to find plush toys that are a little more masculine and thought "Robots!" The shapes are pretty simple. I'm just sort of winging it and looking at lots of pictures of old tin toy robots online. So far he's pretty cute, too! Sketch included :)
